Barry Tomes is a Publicist and Entrepreneur.

From the man himself……
Little did I know that when I got into the hot seat with Jannie Rawlinson  I was about to start a long journey a fascinating insight for me and hopefully the listeners.  I have done an awful lot in my life and I am constantly busy, but when I was persuaded to do a lifestory podcast, I then realised that I have so much to say – along with so much to do and research.

Dave Hill ‘Slade’
We are about a year in and we continue to tell my story which I enjoy doing. Every time I do this we have the most amazing fun, with a lot of laughter and tears as I share the joy and the sadness of my life.  I made the decision when I started this to tell the raw truth and not gloss over the process, which I hope you will enjoy listening to.
Many people from around the world are finding them interesting and I am thinking about writing a book,or do a movie – but right now I am in the movie. So when Jannie asked me to do this I knew immediately as a broadcaster that I have known for many years, that I could trust her with my story.
I have heard many podcasts where they don’t quite get their point over for one reason or another, but I am really enjoying it, and so far I have been able to do it without consulting an old diary – although I do have a lot of diaries to refer to if needed!
I have had the most fascinating life and worked in many different industries – including building and owning my own record label. But I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I wanted to make my Mum proud of me when I left school.
Roy Wood ‘Wizard’
So I have been self employed as a builder to owning my own business and being an entrepreneur, which I think you are born one you don’t become one. I found it therapeutic just going through so many things that have happened to me – including making a record for the Queen Mother – and I am pleased to say 53 years later I am still making amazing memories.
I just want to thank Jannie for helping me to tell my story and I want to thank everyone for listening and for sending their kind comments.  Please try and listen from episode one. It’s definitely a life well lived.
